Ever since this one landed in our collection, there hasn’t been a single spring or summer holiday where it didn’t come along. Out of everything we’ve tried over the years, L For Woman is always one of the first bottles we pack.

But it’s not just for vacations. That’s just to show how good it feels when you finally get a break from the daily routine. Truth is, we wear it any time of year. Right now we are writing this in the middle of Slovenian winter, and the room smells like it because there’s no way we’re doing blog stuff without a spray or two nearby.

How it all started

The story started maybe 5 years ago. We’ve tried other Clive Christians since then, loved some, but this one has stayed the favorite from day one. No doubt about it! Oh, and if you see the beautiful photos of this blog post, you know already that this one stays in maruša’s side of our collection 🙂

The bottle?

Yeah, it’s royal level fancy. Golden details, heavy glass, the whole luxury thing.

We’re long past obsessing over boxes and packaging, but the bottles themselves? Clive Christian does them beautifully. They look serious and feel solid in the hand. Could be even displayed as a decor, who knows.

A Floral Fruity Scent Made for Women

Now the scent

delicate, a bit sensual, very feminine and not overpowering. It feels like something any woman could wear at any age. It just sits nicely on skin. making it the perfect candidate for a signature perfume.

The scent is simple but everything blends just right. Bright, sweet peppery rose first. Then this fresh, grassy vetiver (not the dirty rooty kind). It lays on a clean woody base with a touch of smooth vanilla underneath. That’s the main vibe we get. If you’re into the full list of notes, we put them at the end.

Performance & versatility

Performance is strong. It projects really well. The more you move, the more it fills the space. Maruša sprays it and walks out, and you can still smell her trail for ages. People sometimes stop and ask: What it is that wonderful smell? Which is a nice way to compliment your scent of that particular day 🙂

Longevity? Easy 6+ hours, sometimes more. It’s super versatile too. Works for a work setup, holidays, date nights, whatever. Year-round, no problem.

Maruša’s Puglia Trip and Clive Christian L for Woman
Timeless Class

Okay, the complaint

the one downside (and it’s the same with most Clive Christians we’ve had): The sprayer. For a bottle that costs around 400€ for 50ml, you’d expect a really nice mist. This one feels a bit cheap. Not the best distribution, kind of spotty. We’re being picky here, but when you’re paying that much, it’s fair to want everything perfect.

Notes if you’re curious

mostly pepper (white, black, pink), artemisia, rose, jasmine, patchouli, vetiver, cedar, and vanilla.

We will continue coming back to it. If you’ve tried L For Woman (or any Clive Christian), tell us what you think.

Living fully, lightly scented.

Thanks for reading. See you next time 🙂
