We’ve been very open about how much we love MDCI Parfums. The flacons were the first thing that caught our eye years ago, and over time that turned into a real collaboration. A while back, while we were on a call with Claude Marchal discussing visuals for an upcoming perfume release, he mentioned he was also working on something new. A separate beauty line called MDCI Beauté. He wasn’t asking for anything at the time, he was simply excited and wanted to share the idea with us. Later he asked if we’d like to create some visuals for it as well. We said yes before even knowing the details of the project. The excitement was instant because once you’ve seen the dedication MDCI puts into their parfums, you know the beauty line would be no different. Besides, the classic French luxury that MDCI is known for is something we really love.
Here’s our honest take after spending time with the products.
The Packaging
The packaging is impressive in true MDCI fashion. You can buy each product individually, but the real experience is the luxury box set. Each item (Day Cream, Night Cream, and Serum) comes in its own glass container, which sits inside a simple paper box. Then everything is placed snugly inside the main luxury box, which is protected by a beautiful printed sleeve.
The Little Details
The Day Cream and Night Cream come with a mother-of-pearl spatula that arrives in its own little golden paper box. The Serum comes in a glass bottle with a dripper, and instead of a spatula it includes an MDCI travel sprayer so you can fill it with your favorite MDCI fragrance. It’s a really nice touch.
The Porcelain Jars
The standout detail is the porcelain. The jars are handmade in Limoges, individually numbered, and feel amazing when you pick them up. These are not your regular skincare packaging, these are art pieces you want to keep on display and brag about. Of course, these containers also come with the distinctive MDCI tassel on the cap. The same style used on their perfumes. The pearl like bead and golden-turquoise/white tassel clearly signal that these are intended for the classic and elegant woman.
How the Products Feel
The Day Cream carries a very light scent inspired by Cio Cio San. It’s not strong at all, and definitely not a replacement for the actual perfume. It’s just a subtle extra layer while you apply it. On Maruša’s skin it feels light, absorbs quickly, and leaves a nice hydrated feeling without any greasiness.
The Night Cream is richer and more comforting. She says it sinks in well and doesn’t leave any residue in the morning.
The Serum is the most concentrated of the three. She uses it before the day cream and noticed her skin looking calmer and more hydrated over time.
The Bigger Picture
When you place these porcelain jars next to the MDCI perfume flacons on a vanity, everything clicks. It’s the same attention to beautiful objects and the same understanding of what true French classic luxury is all about. The whole line feels like a natural extension of the MDCI parfums philosophy.
